McCabe's People Powered Campaign to Hold Madison Town Hall

As with other similar events, the evening will begin with a few words from Mike, but will be mostly Q&A with the audience controlling the topics and discussion.

MADISON, WI, NOVEMBER 15, 2017 - Mike McCabe's People Powered Campaign is back in Madison after it's multi-week tour around Wisconsin. Visiting the people normally left out of the political discourse has given Mike a unique perspective on why we are where we are and how best to change course.

Wednesday night's Town Hall will be held at Madison's Goodman Community Center (149 Waubesa Street, Madison) from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. As with other similar events, the evening will begin with a few words from Mike, but will be mostly Q&A with the audience controlling the topics and discussion.

Being farm raised and having deep rural roots going back generations, Mike got his start in life milking cows and working the land with his family. This is where he got his passion for a government and economy that work for all of us and not just the wealthy and well-connected, and things like living wages for every worker, health care for all, debt-free education and bringing high-speed Internet to every household. And it’s where he got the work ethic and common sense that will be needed to bring these changes about.

When asked about the challenge ahead Mike answered, “We have a poisoned political culture that glorifies greed and dooms us to a government and economy that work great for the rich and powerful at everyone else’s expense. Concern for the common good has fallen out of fashion. Genuine public service has given way to a lot of back scratching, nest feathering and ladder climbing. Bringing back true public service for the common good requires leadership by example.”
